Ranked number sixteen of listed Century Farmhouse properties in the UK and built in the reign of Henry VIII, the property has remained untouched for over a hundred and fifty years. In our process of refurbishment, we stripped the property to its shell and lovingly restored it using locally sourced, traditional materials characteristic of the building’s era of construction. We also added an additional two extensions, one positioned at the rear to house the kitchen and one at the side of the property for the utility room. Many of the property’s original features still remain such as the oriel window in the master building and the addition of a priest’s hole on the top floor.
